Certain data sets may contain text columns that are more usefully viewed as a single column. For example, you may wish to combine First name and Last name into a new column called Full name; a concatenation column allows you to do this, and to define the text that will separate the component values (a space character, a comma, or some other text).
To create a concatenation column:
By default, the name of the resulting column reflects the components of the concatenation, but you can give the column a new name of your choosing. (Note that changing the name will not affect how the column is computed.) You may change the text separator later using Column > Edit Variable Definition…
