Extracting date or time components from a date or time column

The following components can be extracted from an existing date column:

• Year
• Quarter
• Month
• Day of Month
• Day of Year
• Day of Week
• Week of Year
• ISO Week-Numbering Year

The following components can be extracted from an existing date or time column:

• Hour of Day
• Hour of Week
• Minute of Hour
• Minute of Day

To extract a numeric component from a date or time column:

1. In the Summary view, select the column whose components you wish to extract
2. Choose Column > Extract Date Component (or Extract Time Component) and select the component of interest

A numeric column will then be created with the result of the extraction. In addition, a time column can be extracted from an existing date column by choosing Column > Extract Time Component > Time of Day.
