Viewing box plots of a numeric column broken down by values of another column
Box plots provide a visual representation of a numeric column’s summary statistics:
- The central box extends from the data’s lower quartile to its upper
quartile
- The line in the middle of the box (separating the yellow from purple
regions) represents the sample median
- The lower and upper whiskers extend to the sample minimum and maximum
To view a box plot of a numeric column broken down by the values of another column:
- In the Summary view, select the numeric column whose box
plot you wish to view
- In the Covariate table, select the column whose categories or quantiles
you wish to group by
- Below the covariate view, ensure that the button labeled Boxes
is selected
- One or more box plots will appear in the covariate view
